How to Build a Solar System Model - Learn to Make a Solar Panel

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

It is possible to build your own solar system model without any prior knowledge of how it is done. All you need is a step-by-step guide to follow to make this a reality. You could build your own solar panel to power the whole of your home and live off the grid. An already made solar system model could cost up to ,000 to 000, but you would save a lot of money if you build it on your own. With as little as 0, you could build your own solar energy using a step-by-step guide with materials gotten through cheap sources, though very durable, to make your own DIY solar system.

Things you will need to build your own solar system model
The things as they pertains to your solar system are the tools and components to build the project. You must have all of them and there are ways to get for cheap, almost free. I will talk about that later on.

The things you require are:
You need a set of battery box
You need a DC meter.
You need an inverter.
You need a handheld drill.
You need a 20 volt solar panel.

I know you must be wondering where to get this tool and whether everything would still cover the 0 I promised earlier on. The short answer is this: write a list of the things you need and walk down to a scrap hardware store to buy them. It is possible to get them for cheap and the durable ones. The things above are not all need, but just get those ones first. After you have arranged all these tools, you can then follow the steps below to get rolling. The perfect place to do this project is your garage but any other place comfortable for you is okay.

Step 1
First and foremost, get a mini solar panel which is only 20 volt or much higher. As a beginner or as a way to learn it first before building a bigger one, let us say 1000 watt which enough to power your own, 20 volt is okay.

It is really possible to see a panel of this type and the easiest way to get them fast is to visit a local RV mall or a mini marina could due. It is possible to see the type sold for or even below that.

Step 2
The second stuff you require is simply a battery. You could be lured into getting a bigger one, but I tell you that a mini rechargeable battery is fine for this project.

An acid or lead battery that is just 12 volt could handle this project. Look for the deep cell battery types and don't go for anything other than that, this is so because they are made for steady use, and they last long too.

Step 3
You need to buy a battery box. It will serve as a protective cover for the battery. As you know before now that battery releases some drops of liquid; this is dangerous to living and non-living organisms. The battery box will keep your kid or animals safe from the potential harm of battery.

Step 4
Another stuff you need is a DC meter enough to suit the voltage of the battery and a DC input. It is responsible for transferring energy to the panel so it could be applied to various power sources in your house. In order to power AC gadgets in your home you require an inverter.

Step 5
Here comes the coupling section of your solar panel parts together to get them to work. With the aid of a handheld driller, join the meter and DC input to the upper end of the battery container. After you might have done this, get some couple of insulated wires to link the meter to your battery.

Take caution to see that you use one wire after the other and link the initial wire to its negative input. Apply similar method to link the DC inlet and the solar panel to the battery itself.

Step 6
After you are through with this, it is time to begin transforming the power of the sun to be used as a renewable energy. Seal the cover firmly using a cord and bring the whole product out to the sun. You can also fix it on top of your roof, if you wish. Relax for up to 9 hours and get set to enjoy the green energy you built.

Final word
This guide is for building a small solar system model. There are even more easy ways to build a 1000-watt solar panel to power the whole of your home. This way you won't have to even pay for power bills ever again and the good part is that you can also do it yourself. All you need is a video manual to guide you better. And the best part is that you won't be contributing to the pollution of our planet and help to lessen our dependency on foreign oil. I urge you to try this out for your home because it is the best way to save money electric bills.

Earth 4 Energy is a DIY Video manual which contains the easy to follow step-by-step guide you can apply to build your own Solar Panel Generator for under 0 in the comfort of your home. It shows you where to find cheap parts required for the solar generator and video guide to couple them together. If you want to live off the grid, now is your opportunity to build yours for less than the price of commercial made ones.

Discover a Language at Home - Learn Spanish Online

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

Online Spanish Learning Benefits

In order to learn Spanish, the best way is to go to Spain. But what if that's not possible? Then bring Spain home. How? Through the internet of course. There are a number of sites and software available on the internet to allow you to learn Spanish online. But how would you know whether such online Spanish learning software teaches you the stuff you want? Will you be as fluent as a native Spanish speaker after finishing such online tutorials and will you be efficient enough to conduct businesses and carry out other occupations proficiently in Spanish? Read on.

First, determine the reason why you are learning Spanish? Is it to utilize your leisure or are you in search of some serious academic knowledge about the language.

If you are a traveller and want to learn Spanish for travelling purposes then you may start learning Spanish through the immersion approach. Since a traveller would have mostly aural and verbal requirements of the Spanish language it doesn't matter from where you learn Spanish since almost all online Spanish teaching sites offer this service. However, if you want to learn Spanish in a manner that you are not to be differentiated from a native Spanish speaker then you might need an online Spanish software that is not only accurate but covers all aspects of training - reading, writing, listening and speaking.

There are many tutorials that offer packages to learn Spanish online with such features for reasonable prices. Some of them are even free. Some packages also provide delivery of CDs and DVDs containing Spanish lessons in the form of audios and videos. Some sites offer unlimited access to their interactive Spanish language learning quizzes for free. These not only improve you knowledge about the language but also enables you to have some fun.

The World Wide Web offers many different ways for you to learn Spanish online. Some might require you to learn repeated Spanish phrases along with their meaning while some might flood you with Spanish words and sentences and then take your online assessment on the language. The Spanish audios available on the internet are recordings of native Spanish speakers uploaded just for you so that you may learn the exact pronunciation of the words. Alternatively some sites give you the option to select which country's Spanish pronunciation would you prefer studying.

An added advantage when you learn Spanish online is that the tutorials converge your concentration to the tutorial only. This is not the case in classrooms where you will be subjected to constant distractions. Moreover, the Spanish phrases that are to be taught are often presented in the form of a story powered by animation and pictures which makes it worth watching and enhances your understanding. The pictures are all realistic and provide an insight to the Spanish culture while the dialogues will train you for daily-life interactions to speak and sound just like a native Spanish speaker.

Portability is another factor that makes online Spanish learning so beneficial. The online software and tutorials can be downloaded and burned to CDs or copied to flash memories or portable hard disks and played at any location, such as while driving your car, or walking near the beach or sitting in the garden etc.

4 Family Outdoor Activities Everyone Will Enjoy

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

Most families today spend far too much of their time indoors. Between television, video games, and computers, it is easy for families to forget that there is a great big world out there waiting to be explored. Taking time to experience the outdoors does not have to be fancy or expensive. Simply going outside and taking a walk gives you an opportunity to see and discuss new things. If your family has been spending too much time indoors and you are ready to make a change, here are four family friendly outdoor activities.

One of the easiest family friendly outdoor activities is hiking or trail walking. Most areas have some sort of park or trail available for people who are interested in hiking. With this activity, the key is to build up stamina slowly. Do not start out by taking your family on a six mile hike. Start with a mile or two of scenic trail. Wear good shoes and use a backpack to carry water and a few snacks. Do some research ahead of time and find out what animals or landmarks you can expect to see. This will give your children something to look for while they are walking. Once you have successfully hiked a few shorter trails start to extend the distances and increase the difficulty. Before you know it you will be hiking fascinating trails and seeing parts of your area that you didn't even know were there.

After hiking, biking is probably the next most family friendly activity. Almost everyone can ride a bike, and children who are too small to ride can sit on an adult's bike. Make sure that all of the bike tires are inflated properly and that everyone is wearing the proper safety equipment, and set out. Like hiking you will want to choose a shorter route initially. Try biking to a fun destination such as a local ice cream shop. Make sure that everyone knows how to safely ride with traffic if your route takes you along a major road. With some practice your family will be able to ride longer routes and rougher roads, which will give you access to parts of your hometown that you would not normally see.

If you are looking for something a bit less strenuous than hiking or biking, then try a trip to the beach or to a lake. Many people believe that these destinations are only fun in the summertime when you can swim. However, there are many things to do and see at a lake even during the fall or spring. Look for different birds or animals, talk about different sea creatures, or climb and play on the rocks or in the sand. Bring along a Frisbee or ball and play catch. Taking a trip to a lake or beach is an excellent way to get your family outside to play.

For families with older children, a picture taking adventure can be a fun way to spend time together. Simply choose a unique location and let everyone take pictures of whatever interests them. This is a great way for children to learn about photography or to have experience capturing their own memories. When you get home, spend time talking about each picture and digitally processing them together.

Book Review: The Singing Nurse Health Lessons for Kids

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

Runny noses, sore throats, cavities - sometimes being a parent can seem like one eternal round of visits to one medical professional or another. And with few exceptions, children do not relish going to the doctor or the dentist. It usually involves fear, tears, and sometimes hysterical tantrums. The old saying goes, 'An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,' but how can a harried parent or busy school nurse find the time and the right way to teach the children in their lives about health care in a way that will impact them without causing anxiety? The Singing Nurse has come to the rescue.

Dawn Ginese, R.N. is a singer-songwriter who uses her musical talents to teach preschool and elementary children good health habits, as well as allay fears of medical professionals. She became inspired to compose health-related songs when she worked as a nurse for an early childhood Head Start program. Using the songs as inspiration, Ginese has developed a book for parents, teachers and health professionals entitled The Singing Nurse Health Lessons for Kids. Incorporating song, art, and motion, she addresses important health issues in a fun and engaging way.

There are eight lessons on the following topics: hand washing, dental hygiene, visiting the dentist, flu prevention, Lyme disease prevention, visiting the audiologist, body parts, and self-esteem. The lessons are nicely laid out with desired objectives, materials needed, lesson preparation tips, and the lesson/activity. Each lesson features a song, and lyrics are included both in the body of the lesson and as handouts for children and parents. There are many optional activity suggestions, as well as take home papers and parent letters so that parents will know what their children have been learning about health care. The Resource Section has full-color cut outs and word strips for playing games and making health booklets and collages.

The Singing Nurse Health Lessons for Kids can be purchased as a download or a Book/CD package. The book is spiral bound and is printed in color on high quality paper. Mp3 recordings of all the songs, such as Rub-A-Dub-Dub, The Dentist is a Good Guy, and The Tick Song (Have you ever sung the word 'ehrlichiosis' before? I know I haven't), as well as PDF files of the entire book and of individual lessons, are included on the accompanying compact disc. As a bonus, you will get a sneak peak of the first video of the upcoming Singing Nurse Animation Project.

This book (found at http://thesingingnurse.com) is a terrific value for anyone who wants or needs a non-threatening, interactive way to teach basic health care to children. In fact, I think there are many adults who would also benefit from this information. I think I need to go brush my teeth. 'Tooth decay... no way!'

Leslie Denning, better known as Miss Leslie, is a private music teacher and early childhood music education specialist. You may learn more about her at http://musicwithmissleslie.com.

What Is Deer Antler Velvet?

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

At some point in your life you've probably seen a picture or a video of a deer with soft, furry antlers. Many people assume that these are simply young deer, which is why their antlers haven't fully developed yet. Actually, though, these are known as "velvet antlers" and male deer (known as bucks) grow them once a year after they shed their previous antlers. These velvet antlers are believed to have numerous health benefits.

Most species of bucks shed their antlers immediately after the rut when they are no longer needed to compete with others in hopes of mating with a female deer (doe). This process typically happens somewhere in between the months of December to March. After the buck sheds his antlers, he immediately begins to grow velvet antlers which are simply antlers covered in blood vessels that supply them with nutrients and vitamins to help stimulate their regrowth.

A transcript was found in the Hunan Province of China which dates back to nearly 2,000 years ago that contained what are believed to be medical benefits of deer antler velvet. Still to this day, traditional Chinese medicine adamantly promotes the use of deer antler velvet for medicinal benefits of all kind. In fact, it's the most prominently used medicine in the culture, only second to ginseng.

So, what kind of health benefits does deer antler velvet provide? Well, research is still ongoing, but studies have suggested it to be primarily effective as an anti-inflammatory agent. This is due to the high concentration of hormone-like substances that are the precursor for rapid tissue growth, which makes sense because deer antlers are the fastest growing tissue known in the animal kingdom.

Some people swear that deer antlers have cured or greatly reduced the magnitude of their arthritis, which may be linked to its anti-inflammatory properties. A simple internet search of "antler velvet arthritis" will reveal just how popular it is for treating this condition, although many supplement companies may try to take advantage of this by marketing antler velvet as a cure for arthritis.

Other benefits that antler velvet is believed to have include boosting the immune system, improving mental clarity, stimulating tissue repair, and even increasing libido. Although, it's important to note that none of these benefits have been scientifically proven.

You may be wondering how you consume antler velvet. It's not like you can go find some antlers and start eating them. Typically, the velvet antlers, when they are about 2/3 fully developed, are cut off from the base and crushed into a powder. This extract is then used in teas, capsules, and drinks. Most of the deer from which they are harvested from live in a closed area and are unharmed during the process.

Elements of the 21st Century Classroom

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

What does the 21st Century classroom look like? How does it operate? While we can't predict what classrooms will look like by 2099 (if we still have classrooms at all), we can certainly make a few comments about the way things are heading.

About a century ago, classrooms were often one-room affairs and the teacher had a tendency to write things down on a chalkboard, while students wrote with ink pens and inevitably ended up covered with hard-to-remove black or blue stains. Rote learning of the 3 Rs was the basis of much elementary school learning, and Latin was still compulsory at high school level. We won't mention corporal punishment. The 21st Century classroom looks a lot different, to say the least.

In the 21st Century classroom, things are made much clearer for teachers. Usually, each core curriculum area is carefully outlined, with key skills for each, and examples of how students can demonstrate that they have managed the "desired outcomes" at each level. Taking English as one example of a core subject, a key skill is "Demonstrate originality and inventiveness in work" and a typical indicator of the desired outcome is for a student to be able to produce, say, a cartoon or a short story version of a traditional tale.

This idea isn't all that novel, but in the 21st Century classroom, students have other options other than just the short stories or cartoons. Now, instead of just storyboarding or illustrating their own version of, say, one of Aesop's fables, students can really create the film, using claymation or stop-motion animation (the latter is the easier and can be done with plastic animals, toy cars, articulated action figure, etc.). And then they can post the final product online so parents and relatives can see the result.

Similarly, instead of just writing out a poem and embellishing it with appropriate illustrations and maybe providing a glossary in the form of footnotes. In the 21st Century classroom, students can create a webpage of the poem, complete with a suitable soundtrack and links to related pages as well as illustrations. For example, Keats's "La Belle Dame Sans Merci" could be linked to dictionary pages explaining the obscure words (e.g. "sedge"), reproductions of some of the classic paintings on the topic, and further links to information about the pre-Raphaelite painters who were inspired by the poem. And that's just one example from one curriculum area.

Classroom laptops, video players, audio equipment (CD and tape decks with headphones) and digital cameras are common forms of equipment in the 21st Century classroom. It's pretty much standard these days for children - even in Grade 3 - to type out and print "good copies" of their work for presentation. And that's just the start...

The important part about any 21st Century classroom equipment is knowing how to use it appropriately. Methods developed and researched from the early use of multi media and video are still effective for enhancing lessons. Mistakes you don't even know you're making can be impacting your lesson.

Watch this video for some important information on how you should be using educational media like school videos in your lesson and download the FREE Expert Guide for easy solutions.

The small company, SchoolVideos.com, I work for is committed to creating quality educational videos for classroom instruction. From the earliest script stages, all subject area content, images, and music are intensely reviewed and selected for meeting appropriate grade level, curriculum objectives and standards for our proprietary productions. The videos we distribute are also screened to meet our high standards.

Teachers in the 21st century classroom will be better educators if they understand how to use multi media in their lessons, if they understand the processes that research has shown to be the most effective for improved student performance, and if they know how to find quality video resources that will enhance their lessons.

John Ratzenberger and His Roles in Pixar Movies

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

John Ratzenberger is an actor most famous for his role as a mailman named Cliff Claven in the 1980s sitcom Cheers. This was the place for his funnyman lines, being the sort of Know-it-all guy with an inflated ego.

Ratzenberger's got a unique voice and Pixar has kind of regarded him as their good luck charm. They create a character for him to voice if one hasn't been integrated into the story at the time.

Of all the Pixar roles Ratzenberger's gotten to play, the one that's his favorite is P.T. Flea, the hot-headed ringmaster of the Circus Bugs. John loves this character because he's so on edge and unpredictable.

What are the other characters he plays in Pixar films? Let's go through the list and find out.

Toy Story, Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 (coming June 2010): John Ratzenberger's Pixar movie role in the Toy Story movies is Hamm the piggy bank. Hamm is pals with Mr. Potato Head and they do well together with their sarcastic wit. Hamm's a bit of a pessimist and likes to take pot shots at his fellow toys, often jumping to the wrong conclusions about them too quickly.

A Bug's Life: In the second Pixar film, as mentioned, Ratzenberger's role was that of P.T. Flea, ringmaster for the troupe of Circus Bugs. He's greedy, demanding and obsessed with money. Being a highly irritable bug, he fires the troupe after they failed the "Flaming Death" performance.

Monster's Inc.: In 2001, John Ratzenberger's role in Monsters Inc. was for The Abominable Snowman, a monster who had been banished from Monstropolis some time ago. Mike and Sulley were also banished when they discovered Henry Waternoose's agenda and were sent to the snowy Himalayan mountains where they meet Mr. Abominable. Looming and frightening at first, he quickly greets the two with "Welcome to the Himalayas!" and is a hospitable, gentle creature. Personally, he is my favorite Ratzenberger-voiced character!

Finding Nemo: The role John plays in this film is unique; it's not a single character, but a school of moonfish. Marlin and Dory cross paths with the school of moonfish as they search for a way to get to Sydney, Australia. The moonfish swim together with remarkable precision and can make pictures of such shapes as an octopus and the Sydney Opera House. They poke fun of Marlin by making his shape and moving his mouth as he explains something to Dory, whom he's upset. In the end, the moonfish make a brilliant, flashing arrow, pointing the way to the East Australian Current, the superhighway direct to Sydney.

The Incredibles: Stick around to the very end for The Incredibles, because John Ratzenberger's minor role doesn't occur until, literally, the end of the film. After the Parr family (The Incredibles) defeat the Omnidroid and Syndrome, they think they're back into a life of normal routine. As the family is leaving the track event Dash just finished, a villain named The Underminer breaks through the surface of the parking lot in an enormous drilling machine. He's a mole-like monster who declares war on peace and happiness. The Incredibles family don their masks, ready for the challenge of defeating a new bad guy.

Cars: Big, lovable and loyal, Razenberger's role on this Pixar film is Mack, a 1985 Mack Semi-Hauler who wears the red and white Rust-Eze cap and pulls the fancy, state-of-the-art container for Lightning McQueen. Even when the rest of McQueen's crew quit on him for being so arrogant and obnoxious, Mack sticks by him. McQueen later demands that Mack drive all through the night to get to LA for the tiebreaker race of the Piston Cup. Mack can barely stay awake though, and finally dozes off when a gang of street racer cars put on some pretty music. This is when the trailer door opens and Lightning McQueen's adventure begins.

Ratatouille: Ratzenberger's role for Ratatouille is in a restaurant full of colorful characters. He plays Mustafa, the head water of Gusteau's in Paris, France. Mustafa is a plump man with a thin mustache. He's great at taking orders, but only if they're off the menu. When the feared food critic Anton Ego snidely tells Mustafa to "Serve me some fresh perspective," the waiter looks like a deer caught in the headlights, frozen with fear and confusion. What's that supposed to mean, he wonders.

WALL-E: John plays John in WALL-E. John is one of the passengers aboard The Axiom starliner who is lost in his own world with holographic screens and a sedentary lifestyle. Robots wait on him every moment of the day and in the movie John mistakes WALL-E for a drink-bot and falls out of his chair. This is what "wakes" him up and the small robot introduces himself to John. Later on, John meets Mary, another passenger who has been awakened from the oblivion around her. Together they watch EVE and WALL-E space dancing outside and then they notice one another, feeling an attraction. They help one another save babies when Auto tries to take over the ship and John shows some real leadership qualities.

Up: Ratzenberger's role in this Pixar film is Tom, a construction worker on the site surrounding Carl Fredricksen's home. John relates to Tom because he used to be a house framer before his career in acting took off. Tom is friendly toward the old man Carl, and makes an offer on the house on behalf of his boss. But his answer is met with a face full of wind as Carl points the leaf blower at him. Carl then takes Tom's megaphone and insults his boss, to which Tom shouts back urgently that he's not with him. Poor Tom!

These are the Pixar Roles that John Ratzenberger has played thus far. I hope that Pixar continues this tradition along with the many other fun traditions in their animated films. The characters and roles Mr. Ratzenberger shall play in future films will be so much fun to listen for as we sit in the theater immersed in a great Pixar story.

Free Wallpapers for Fans

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

Free wallpapers are among the most popular things you can find on the Internet. Aside from the regular advantages they come with, such as a personalized desktop background or a different view for your computer, they are the perfect way for various fans to keep close to their favourites, one way or another. Getting to see their favourites every time they watch their desktop is priceless and this is what you will find at most users. Whether the wallpapers represent someone whose music they like or just, close family member or maybe the best friend, such free wallpapers are a good representation of what they like.

Anyway, let's see what you can find over the Internet. You may have the strangest hobbies and favourites, there will still be something for you.

Let's take music for instance. Obviously, the most popular artists in trend are the most common ones on free wallpapers web sites. However, this doesn't mean you cannot find backgrounds with artists who created art way before you were even born. Movie artists don't make an exception either. Whether you like Charlie Chaplin or Steven Seagal, there are plenty of options for you out there. The movie world is a little more diversified though. You will not only find your favorite actors or actresses, but also representative free wallpapers with the precise movies you truly love. Sometimes there are captures from the movie, while other times just advertising backgrounds. Music is varied too. If you like hip hop or rock, just find a representative wallpaper for these music genres.

Animal world is also very popular. However, these free wallpapers are mostly oriented towards warm people who truly like the cute or dumb looks of animals sometimes. It doesn't matter if you like dogs or crocodiles, your options are just as varied.

Video games are in the same category with music and movies and that is popularity. Video games are probably the most addictive things you can get involved with if you have a computer. Therefore, their fans sometimes even "lose" their lives and get to live in the game. As a shooter or RPG fan, it is imperative to get some free wallpapers with your favorite games or characters.

Just like cars. If you can't have a super car in real life, you can always have it on your desktop background. What else can you ask for?

Anyway, if you are undecided, there are always even better options. Just like anyone else, you have more than just one favorite. You may want a wallpaper with your favorite singer today, one with your favorite flower tomorrow and one with your favorite food the day after tomorrow. How can you do that? The free wallpapers world got so evolved that you can also download free or paid softwares that will automatically change the wallpapers for you over a particular period of time. They can do it within minutes or just daily, it doesn't matter.

Therefore, with the help of free wallpapers, you can always keep your favourites next to you whenever you enjoy your time with a computer.

There are few things that always attracted me like a magnet and it is definitely reading in general and of course writing about the things I like.

How To Master Long Range Shooting

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

Long range shooting with the proper tools and knowledge is a lot of fun and easier than most would think. It does require a level of patience but is well worth the effort when you're able to place a bullet accurately at a half mile plus. Let me explain.

A few years ago my dad and I were hunting coyotes we spotted a few out at about two-hundred fifty yards so we started lobbing bullets hoping to hit our target. After a few shots the coyotes looked up at us and then continued on with what they were doing, making us feel very stupid. We never hit them but that was the day we started looking into shooting long range, and making sure that the next time we had such a shot we would know EXACTLY how to hit our target.

After reading this article you will know the secrets to long range shooting and learn a few tricks that I've picked up through years of practice and experience. It doesn't matter what kind of rifle you're shooting you can be accurate at long ranges with this information. There are however rounds and rifles that provide for real long ranges like 7MM or 7MM STW or even a 338 or.338 Lapua. There's a ton of ideal long range rifles, but if you don't have an ideal rifle its ok. You can still get real good at a 700-900 yard ranges and let's face it how many animals do you think you can kill if you were extremely proficient at 700 to 900 yards?

For the sake of time I'm going to use details from my particular round a 7mm. My rifle is a Remington 700 7mm. What we'll cover is the following.

1. Rifle (7mm Remington 700)
2. Round (Actual Bullet)
3. Reloading
4. Bullet Data

Again we covered #1 you need a rifle and you need to know its capabilities. So lets get to #2 the bullet. I use a 162 Grain Sierra BTHP with 68 grains of IMR 4831 Powder. I tested bullets and powders and this was the most accurate for me up close at 100 and at long ranges of up to 1500 yards. My bullet isn't ideal for long range large animals as the knock down power decreases dramatically at long ranges.

Next we need Bullet data if you can't reload get a good bullet that provide you with the following information preferably right on the box. Hornady has this information right on the box of most of their higher powered rifle rounds. All you need from the box is Muzzle Velocity, you will need to find bullet coefficient in a book on the particular round or often times the manufacturer has a web page dedicated to identifying bullet coefficient.

1. Muzzle Velocity
2. Bullet Coefficient

With this information you can now begin to plug your data into either an exbal program on a hand held PDA. (We use a DELL we got on eBay for ) or the Iphone has a nice app called "shooter" here's what you need in the features of your long range shooting application.

1. Muzzle velocity
2. Barometric pressure
3. Altitude
4. Temperature
5. Wind correction
6. Sight above bore (usually this is 1-2 inches)
7. Cosign or Angle of shot.

Plug your information into your computer and then when your in the field you simply plug in the information that's needed relative to your new location. So here's what I typically do. With my bullet data consistent, the only things I need to change are field conditions. When we are getting ready to hunt I pull out my Kestral meter (kestrel.com) and I get temperature, altitude, barometric pressure and humidity and I put it all in the computer.

I then pull up my drop table so that I know my bullet drop at 300, 400 and up to 1500 yards or more. This is key but the final tid bit is this.

Your scope...

You can go big with a night-force scope for 00 or you can do what I did and get a simple Bushnell Elite - the key is being able to set your MOA or minutes of angle.

Your drop table will give you MOA's as adjustments to your scope to set your scope for the distances that you shoot. I have up to 47 Minutes of Angle adjustment on my Bushnell Elite.

So when I'm ready to take a shot I pull up my Lika 1200 (good for up to about 1500 yards at dusk) I get my distance, lets say 945 yards. I then pull up my drop table which has my field conditions and bullet data already in it and I look t 945 yards and it tells my to come up 27 MOA. I go to my scope and dial up 27 Minutes of Angle and guess what? That's right Im now set at ZERO at 945 yards which means I just put my cross-hairs on the target!

Hope this helps you if you want to see some samples check out my videos on YouTube.

Taylor Deaton has been long range shooting for many years. He has videos on Youtube that get up to 600 views a day on the subject of long range shooting If you want to see examples of long range shots please visit our youtube channel.

Tool Time

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

When Tool decides to go out on tour, there's one thing that's for sure: guitarist Adam Jones is going to be highly involved in the look of the show. For some designers, this might be a challenge, but considering Jones' background and past work on set design and makeup (including on Jurassic Park, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Dances With Wolves, and Ghostbusters 2), the guitarist has something of an artistic eye, to say the least.

Working alongside Jones, who conceived the video and set design, are video director/programmer Breck Haggerty and lighting designer/programmer/director Mark "Junior" Jacobson, with Scott Wilson as laser crew chief. Content and animation for the video-heavy tour came from several sources, including Jones' wife, artist Camella Grace, who directs the content, as well.

The look of the tour is really dictated by the video elements of the design. When Jacobson, the band's lighting designer for the last 10 years, was unable to take on the first leg of the tour earlier this year due to a conflict with Korn, he approached Haggerty to handle a converged role directing the lighting, video, and set design. "This time around, however, Adam had some really specific ideas he wanted to try for video and set design in terms of where the projectors and screens go," says Haggerty, who is also founder of Diagonal Research and the creator of the NEV8 system, also used on this tour. "This time, it was more about technical problems than design issues for me."

While there was a similar screen backdrop for the earlier leg, the screen for this leg -- a 56'×6' seamless rear projection screen -- is exactly half the size. "It was inspired by a show that Cream did at Royal Albert Hall, where they wanted to seat people all around," says Haggerty. "They had a very low video wall that was front-projected, so they could have a video element, but they could also seat in the round. The design is a combination of that and the idea of using the whole stage as a projection surface, including the stage itself." Delicate Productions provided both lighting and video gear for the tour.

To use the stage as a projection surface, 56'×28' of white marley floor, provided by Accurate Staging, takes video content from a grid of 12 Christie S+16K DLP projectors hanging from the ceiling. Seven more rear-project the backdrop screen. "The design itself is really simple," says Haggerty of the video. "It's just that low wall and the giant projection on the floor, which really ate up our budget. It really came down to how much money they wanted to spend and how big this projection could be on the floor, because it gets exponentially more expensive as the image gets larger. We started looking at keeping a constant brightness level and just widening the stage by 2' or 3' made a huge difference."

"The show looks very different based on where you are sitting in an arena," says Grace. "Toward the end of the show, the screens in back of the band and the entire floor become one giant screen, making the nosebleed seats the best in the house. The design objective is to create a show that everyone can be a part of -- no bad seat in the house.

"Adam wanted the show, in its entirety, to be an evolution," continues Grace. "The show has very a minimalist feel in the use of basic colors in the beginning and builds through the entire set until the end is kind of an overload of lights, video, and lasers. Inspiration comes from so many different places, large and small. Each song has its own themes and ideas, and the trick is somehow to marry all of these visual ideas and styles."

Ten Coolux Pandoras Boxes, with two outputs per box, serve this setup, using 19 of the available 20 outputs, one per projector (seven in back, 12 in the air). "The Pandoras are used mainly for their ability to zoom, edge blend, and correct keystoning, so we can accurately tweak this huge projection and knit it all up so it looks like one continuous image," says Haggerty. With six quadrants on the floor, each takes two projectors with individual outputs to correct for any errors in hanging. "We were originally going to try to use just one output per quadrant and try to focus each projector physically, but we never would have been able to get it totally right, so we added Pandoras Boxes, effectively doubling the number we had to the projectors in the air, so we could get that extra level of adjustment and really get it dialed in," Haggerty adds.

All the content is delivered via three Diagonal Research NEV8 racks, one feeding the floor, one feeding the wall, and one feeding Barco MiSpheres -- configured in a shape inspired by the work of artist Alex Gray -- that appear as a more dramatic backdrop for the last third of the show. "Part of the reason we used a singular source was so one image could play across the whole scene without having to worry about all the timing issues you can get running movies off of multiple computers," says Haggerty. "The NEV and Pandoras Box made a wonderful combination. Because all of the programming was divided between two systems -- the NEV for content, and the Pandoras for display -- it kept the programming relatively simple." There is no use of IMAG on this or any other Tool tours, as per the band.

In addition to content creation, Grace also works from others' content to build a narrative for each song. "Having worked with the band for 10 years gives me a real understanding of how the band wants to create the live experience," she says. "Being married to Adam gives me an intimate understanding of the vision they hope for."

Along with Grace and Haggerty, contributors to the video content include Jones, Chet Zar, Alex Grey, Meats Meier, and Matt Santoro. The artists use a variety of media, including some live action footage shot on DV or 35mm and software including Autodesk® Maya®, Newtek Lightwave 3D, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, and U&I Software's ArtMatic.

"In the early days, we would use 16mm film or a Hi-8 video camera and a video toaster making loops on SVHS tape," Grace continues. "Today, the tools are so much better, and we have more creative minds involved, but we still use some of the early stuff. The evolution of ideas is very much a part of what Tool does. It is a cacophony of styles and ideas that have emerged over the years."

Content is tweaked every show, and so are timing and programming changes. "We've been trying to shift things over to a more improvisational type of programming, where you can make last-minute changes during the show, and if you decide you want to try something two seconds before it happens, you can go for it," says Haggerty. "This also makes it easier to change content and concepts. I'm more VJ-ing the show than playing back cues."

For both lighting and video control, Haggerty and Jacobson each run an MA Lighting grandMA. A grandMA Light is also on hand for backup, but its main use is during setup for adjustment to the Pandoras Boxes for the floor projections on stage, since these can't be seen tweaking from FOH.

Danny Whetstone, video crew chief for Delicate Productions and the projectionist for the tour, builds the projection system onsite, converging and blending all the projectors. He uses a combination of the projector optics (lens shift, zoom, focus) and the grandMA Light controlling Pandora CAM layers. "We built very specific test patterns, test cues, and views for him to use," says Haggerty. "Once the grid is straight and field is flat, he turns it over to me, and I start working on show notes."

Band members are much less involved with the lighting design of the video-dominant set, except for the insistence on no followspots. Aside from drummer Danny Carey, the band simply does not like to be well lit, especially lead singer Maynard James Keenan. "They don't really run around the stage anyway," says Jacobson. "I can leave dark areas on the stage they can retreat into in case they don't want to be lit at that moment. This tour, the lead singer was really lit because of the video, not the lighting. Video has always been a top priority."

Jacobson did not want to wash out the video on the stage floor with too many lights. "That's where the sidelighting with LEDs comes in -- the PixelLines," he says. "They're low profile, you don't really notice them, and I could still light the band without any toplight. The PixelLine 110 is one of the first LEDs I've seen that is an actual light and not just an effect because it can actually throw light 20'." Also in Jacobson's arsenal are Coemar LED ParLites for truss toners, Martin MAC 2000s, High End Systems x.Spots, Studio Beams, Studio Commands, and Zap BigLite 4.5 fixtures.

For a few songs, three rings of moving truss lower and articulate, for which Delicate provided a magnetic link-counting system by Branam Enterprises Inc. "It's just a computer with a monochrome screen -- very DOS-looking stuff -- that selects the hoists and records a position for them," says Jacobson. "They just play back with function keys."

Diversitronics D3000 Strobes are used for lightning effects but are actually controlled by Haggerty from his grandMA to coordinate with the video footage. Both grandMAs are running the same show file but operating in different worlds, allowing Haggerty to grab the strobes for the song "10,000 Days," for example, and sync them to the video. For the first song, "Stinkfist," there is no video used, so in addition to the lights, Jacobson uses the projectors with a solid green as a wash, controlling them from his grandMA, each console acting as a sort of backup for the other, as well.

As for operating the lighting, like video, much of the show is run on the fly. "There are only a couple of songs that are totally 'Go button' songs," says Jacobson. "The rest of it is very fader-intensive, grabbing this chunk of lights, each having its own cue stacks. Tool sometimes plays something a little longer or adds a cool new bridge to a song during sound check, so we have to come up with something extra. They evolve the show, so we have to also." Some preprogramming was done using grandMA 3D, although most programming for both video and lighting was done while onsite.

The final icing on the design is the use of lasers, a first for Tool. "In 2002, we talked about using lasers, but the budget didn't allow for it," says Jacobson. "I had been talking to Howard Ungerleider about some other effects I wanted to do, and I kept thinking about his company [PDI]. My approach with the lasers has really been to let the laser crew do what they want because they know far more than I do about it. Adam had some ideas here also, and Scott [Wilson] came up with the looks."

As laser crew chief, Wilson designed and programmed the looks and runs the cues for the show. Additional programming was shared by laser tech Alex Donne. Since Wilson was on tour with Hilary Duff for most of the rehearsal period, most of the laser elements were programmed in just two days. Adding to the idea that the show builds and adds new elements as it progresses, lasers appear only in the final four songs.

"Knowing that the show is building to its pinnacle, the laser effects build as well," says Wilson. "All the elements of the show play off each other, trading places for who is the most predominant. A laser effect might lead to a lighting transition and vice versa. The upstage lasers are able to change color, allowing me to match certain color palettes in songs. In the end, you're left with a unified visual experience like no other."

Wilson uses a total of five lasers, including two 20W Spectra Physics 171 Argon/Krypton White Light Lasers at upstage center. They are used on a custom 24-position double rail projector fitted with three sets of Eye magic X/Y Scanners and CMY color mixing. Other effects include 180° diffractions, RGB, and CMY beam rails. Three 12-position 3W Quantum YAG lasers, two of which are mounted on the upstage truss, round out the package. One of these is situated at FOH. The laser show was programmed with Pangolin's Showtime 2000, configured to use two Pangolin Pro Cards. The show itself is run through a Pangolin Live Controller.

Revealed! The Secrets of Creating a Truly Bad Website

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

This is a tongue in the cheek look at what should not be done if you would like your website to survive in the big bad cyber world so to speak; lets look at how things can be done the wrong way so that you can avoid these traps and create a site that does not irritate our visitors. On the contrary, if you have a sadistic streak in you and if you have been desperately trying to rattle the nerve of your visitors or bore them into running for dear life away from your site these tips may prove quite handy.

To begin with we will break a website into three parts; the design aspect, the technical and the marketing aspect. All websites can be segregated into these components; the look or feel of the site; their code and the server in use that can impacts its performance and how well they attract visitors and convert them into buying customers.

The top ten web designing goof ups:

  • Go ahead and use some of the craziest and 'never before seen' web conventions that nobody will understand
  • Make sure that the navigation on the different pages of your site do not match with other; so in other words each web page should have its very own unique navigation system.
  • Lift off content from other site, make sure that whatever information is use is drab and boring to the point of making the readers cry out of sheer boredom; another way is to use information that is full of grammar and spelling mistakes and that absolutely makes no sense or is not related to your niche.
  • Make sure that you always use obscure labels for your buttons and links that will thoroughly confuse your visitors; the more confusing your site, the more frustrated your visitors will be.
  • Try you hardest to make life very difficult for them; remember you are trying to play the evil anti website twin of 'Grinch' here. Do not offer search boxes so that you visitors have to go through the entire site to find a single document; try to hard to ensure that your visitors cannot find things on your site easily.
  • Use content that only talks about you and your website while deliberately withholding any sensible and relevant information. You could also include a web page with jut a big picture of yourself or several in various poses.
  • Then a truly devious way would be to not use any content at all, simply go for large images and senseless videos; create a dozen pages like that without a single word on any of them, so for your home page; just have a giant picture of your home office and yourself.
  • Use complicated and esoteric java script drop down menus that make navigation almost impossible; do not include text links so that search engine spiders cannot crawl your web pages
  • Use the tiniest fonts and bad color combination; the funkier the better, we are going for an unreadable site here.

Make a mess technically:

  • Your website should not load before 20 minutes; the longer your site takes to load the more frustrated your visitors will be.
  • Make sure that a new version of your website appears in everybody's computes, so do not test the design after creation. Your site should look totally different in IE, Chrome and Firebox respectively.
  • The functionality of the site should be extremely poor, every time a visitor uses the site it should be very different from the last and just more miserable; the site should work improperly and inconsistently.
  • All the links should be broken and images should be missing.
  • Make sure that there are regular crashes; for instance, if more than 5 people visits the site at a time, the homepage and some other web pages should become inaccessible.
  • The visitors should have to download and install at keas 5 plug ins before they can see the site properly and even then there should innumerable issues.
  • There should be no protection but make it a point to ask your visitors for very personal and sensitive information like their SSN, credit card number and bank account details; all of this needless to say, should be very accessible to even a novice hacker.
  • Ensure that people can only view your site on specific browsers and certain versions of the said browser.
  • There should be a ton of pop ups, sign up boxes, animations, running videos so that the pages take forever to load.
  • Use a million frames.

Increasing Revenue Because Your Web Efforts Yell, "LOOK AT ME" Via Technology

,
HOW TO MAKE ANIMATION VIDEOS:

You have a business; not any business, it's your business. Like most businesses you are faced with increasing burdens of taxes, competition, employee concerns, cost of money and many other issues. You want an advantage. You have thought about beefing up your web presence but are not familiar with the many different avenues on how to approach the need with a sensible solution. Better yet you do not want to not learn how the technology works, your busy, you want to know what it will do for your customers and ultimately your bottom line. Finally, you want to create an affordable and sustainable effort that allows a web based technological platform to create the needed value for your current and potential customers. This article provides a simple overview on how to understand that process.

The first subject on this short journey is the most critical. When you pursue a partner in web development there is a list of criteria that should be met. The first item and most important is an understanding what your customer value needs are. The conversation between the client and the web development company needs to be crystal clear on the requirement needs of the end user or customer. Most significant is the need for the company to clearly identify with what creates real value with their current and potential customers. There is a great deal of ways to broaden this awareness, traditional methods such as "SWOT analysis" or more complex approaches such as "voice of customer" all work but they need to be accomplished before you can address web platform needs. The next two areas are of equal importance; 1) Creative and 2) technological prowess. If your web development company is very creative but cannot write great code then they cannot create a final winning solution. Likewise if you sign with a company that understands and writes the most logical front end and back end code for your web applications but does not present that code in a creative and appealing manner; all is for not.

A few things that round out the requirements. Make sure that the company is accountable to you, you're the boss and both parties need to understand that. This includes respecting timelines, responding to questions and keeping you in the loop on the entire development process. Find a partner that offers an affordable solution. There are many web development companies, make sure that you partner with one that offers a reasonable cost to the value that you are receiving. It is a world market and the cost of value required should be explored. Many companies have paid 3-6 times more than what the real value of similar web based solutions. Get several quotes on upcoming projects. Ask the required questions to ensure that you are receiving like value from each web solution company, find the affordable solution. Make sure that your web development partner offers an ongoing solution for your web based needs. Demand that the final agreement includes 1 year of maintenance/warranty issues. Have a clear understanding of what the performance will be for issues that take place in the future with the site by getting a commitment that they will stand by their work. Ensure that the company has a solid historical representation by contacting their prior clients.

Make sure that your web development company understands the depth of technological offerings. There are many ways to skin a cat these days, but web developers get caught in what they know not what is available. Often you will find web development companies sell you on solutions that they are familiar with instead of what is the best solution for your customers. Make sure that they are well versed in the latest web technology. At minimum web development companies need to be well versed in both front end and back end applications. Here are a few to be familiar with and how they can provide value to your customers

1. HTML 5.0

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and has been the code that your web browser reads in order to create visual and audible web pages. What is important about HTML 5.00 is that it is the current development of the HTML language that will allow a further integration of standard HTML coding toward a rich media environment. The key to the latest version is that it creates additional flexibility to produce a media rich environment for your customers without the addition of API's. They do not fully expect HTML 5.0 to be completed until around 2014 but if your web development company is not paying attention to how the current development of HTML will add to a more dynamic media environment now and in the future, look for a company that offer new age solutions.

2. Flash

Adobe offers an amazing range of products to enhance the web experience. One that needs individual mention is Flash. There is an attempt to promote HTML 5.0 over Flash content but there are many things that only Flash can accomplish. Flash is critical to media rich environments and will be hard pressed to be surpassed in areas like games, desk-top widgets or any other application that requires advanced animation and techniques. Flash has been criticized in the past for overall CPU usage but the latest version of FLASH has reduced the need, in addition programmers of Flash need to be attentive to the CPU requirements of the venue the application will be ran on. As our customers progress from the Desk top to the smart phone, overall understanding of CPU usage is critical to overall customer experience. Finally, it is not uncommon for development companies to embrace HTML 5.0 and not FLASH or vice versa. To provide the richest and most fulfilling media environment for your customers choose a web development company that is versed and willing to write code in both.

3. CSS

Cascading Style Sheets is the language that allows the look and formatting of HTML. The separation from document content (HTML markup) and the styling of the markup allows for a great deal of flexibility on how the content is presented. Style sheets are responsible for the look and several style sheets can be created to allow more flexibility in how your web content is presented in different browser venues (i.e. Mobile phones, print, screen reader, etc. ) Recently we reviewed a large corporate web effort that was done primarily in old table html format. We estimated that the overall effort could have been done in 1/6 of the time using CSS style sheets, in addition the lack of flexibility in all the venues the application was viewed. Bottom line is the Web Development Company needs to be well versed in CSS.

4. JavaScript

They say that HTML is the structure, CSS provides the style and JavaScript creates interactive encounter that allows web pages to be more of a fulfilling experience. A few items that JavaScript applications address; validating form input, changing images, background effects, calendars, calculators, links & Buttons. The list goes on and on. You can have great content with appealing style, but also ensure that your customers experience client-side technology like JavaScript. You will find that the same page without JavaScript is a different page from a web experience comparison. Create the most interaction with your customers by utilizing good JavaScript code.

5. PHP/MySQL or ASP

Web sites today not only need to be media rich, they need to be dynamic to address the spontaneous needs of the users. PHP and MySQL, or ASP is server-side technology which will allow the web page to provide a liver user experience. Text, Images, Video can all changed in response to different contexts and conditions. It is important to have an understanding of the needs of your customers so dynamic pages can be created to produce content that is specific to the overall value need of the end user. In addition make sure that your web development company has a program to enhance the Search engine optimization of your dynamic pages. Historically the dynamic production of the content of these pages has been less visible. Solid SEO programs in place will combat this and allow your pages to index with the major search engines faster than your competitors.

6. Web Video & Images

Going forward it will become more about the best overall media experience on web platforms. Now is the time to outpace your market opposition by offering better video, images and content above your competitors. Web Video once uploaded to your site and social marketing avenues gets reprocessed from site to site. This creates an enormous amount of exposure for your company. If the video is done well or has an attraction with segments of viewers it could go viral. In addition as consumers become more sophisticated with how to search on the internet the "long tail" of keyword search will allow video tags and image tags to be found by a more intended market segment. Bottom line is this, get rolling on video productions for your business. It does not matter if it is product introduction or company information put it on your website and introduce it to YouTube and like social media sites. Decent video production for the web is affordable and your efforts will pay off.

7. SEO

They say, "If you build it they will come". In the world of the internet they say, "If you build it with an excellent Search Engine Optimization program they will come." Bottom line is build it, but do not build it without a solid Search Engine Optimization program in place. Any good Web development company will have people in house that can develop a solid program for you. If they are crafting a web solutions from scratch demand that a program be involved in the package. Any web investment needs to be complimented with a solid plan to bring future customers to your site. There are several avenues to accomplish this. If you research search engine optimization on the web you will be able to review several good and bad approaches. Most important is the need to for a program, ensure that your program comes with actionable and verifiable benchmarks so you know that the search engine program is working. There are several ways to track gain in the optimization area, hold your web developer accountable to specific criteria.

The reality is that consumers and the internet are completely entangled. As progressive generations grow the reliance on web searches and on line shopping will continue to displace more traditional methods of" business to consumer" or "business to business models." Most realize the inevitability of that statement, many others will in the future. Embrace all of the technology now; get ahead of your competitors. As a business owner you can hire the most talented web development firm available, but, in order to be at the top of your contribution toward internet marketing. You also have a learning curve to address. The longer you are engaged in the web technology process the more you can contribute and compete.
